A huge protest rally of around 10,000 people took place in Västerås, Sweden on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 to condemn the Israeli state terrorism currently taking place in Gaza. A figure of 10,000 people seem quite impressive for a small city of Västerås.
Ammar Abuarqoub – a Palestinian living in Västerås – can be seen in this video delivering a fiery speech and bashing every supporter of Israel. Whatever he is saying is straight from the heart which is why it creates such a real impact on the sane minds and souls.
Despite being a friend of Ammar since around 2 years, I have never him seen him so angry.
Go on Ammar!
As Michael Heart says in his Gaza song, ‘we will not go down in the night, without a fight’!
So go on!
We are all Palestinians!
Quite understandably he is particularly upset about the criminal role of the west, Europe, and the Swedish media etc. One of Ammar’s remarks about the irresponsible ignorance of Swedish journalists (our blood is on your hands). was something I found very important.
I believe this statement is true not just for the journalists but for the most of us in most circumstances.
Why is it that no body cared about Palestine when, many weeks before the invasion of Gaza, Ze’ev Boim (Israeli Housing & Construction Minister) dared to say:
We will shut off the electricity in Gaza and they can choke inside there.
Why did we continue to celebrate on January 1st with such pomp and show as if it was not the end and death of another year of our useless lives but the start of a whole new second life? All this happening while the terrorist state of Israel was putting bullets in the bodies of infants!
All those of us who turned a blind eye to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians by the terrorist state of Israel must understand this very simple but bitter fact; that it is not just the IDF’s beasts, it is not just the ruling political coalition, it is not just Ehud Barak, but it is every single one of us – no matter where ever we live and whatever our circumstances are – who have the blood of our fellow Palestinian brothers on our hands.
