The Mystic’s Muses

“How can I lose faith in the justice of life, when the dreams of those who sleep upon feathers are not more beautiful than the dreams of those who sleep upon the earth?” – Khalil Gibran

Lessons Learned

As we grow up we learn that life is not as beautiful as it seems to be in fairy tales. The ones we love the most might be among the first ones to hate, hurt and leave us. Our best friends might become our worst foes, and the ones we always considered foes might help us when friends are too busy.

We learn that no matter how much we hate some people, we still can’t let anything bad happen to them. We learn its not good to share secrets with friends. At times they start shouting ‘I know a dirty little secret of yours’.

We learn that even some relationships have an expiry date. Once such relationships get expired, you would be either not able to bring them back, and if you do get them back, the relationship would be just like an expired drug: ineffective and most probably poisonous for you.

We learn that some relationships are meant to be broken no matter how good-hearted the involved parties are. Happy endings are rare and misunderstandings are abundant. We learn that at times things end even before they actually start. This all helps in learning what fate actually is.

We start to speak less, think more, and get hurt even more. We start to prefer being alone. But still we hate loneliness. We stop to trust people, their tall claims, their great promises, their fancy dreams, everything which they want to share with us, their statements, and even their true honest feelings and emotions, for we know that, at any time, they may take a U-turn, or worse, apply a reverse-gear and be gone.

We learn that in most cases, love is nothing but just the result of close proximity coupled with the fact that all of us are selfish losers who try to find the best possible ways of satisfying their biological, mental, emotional, and physical needs of being with a companion, and as soon as we get a better deal, or a little bit of a problem – which might be nothing but a very very tiny test of that very love which we had claimed to be suffering from, we tend to ‘forget’ whatever we have had claimed, wished, promised and committed just a little time back.

Some of us also believe that this particular natural, biological, mental, emotional, physical need of being with a companion is at times quite materialistic. The reason being that as soon as the society or the ones with whom we have a blood relationship exert a tiny bit of pressure on us, with in no time all the feelings of love may evaporate and we may become the most ’sensible’, ‘logical’, ‘responsible’, ‘realistic’ and thus, the most cruel creators who ’sacrifice’ the ‘love of their life’ to bring ‘happiness’ to the loved ones around them (excluding one single unfortunate arrogant hopeless illogical insensible irresponsible unrealistic believer-in-dreams romantic fool of course).

We learn that not only every single of step of the so called ‘moving on’ process hurts. It is doing even simple things like breathing – when you are wishing to die, smiling – when you are crying tears of blood inside, watching – outside your bedroom’s window to unsuccessfully try ignoring certain memories, eating – when all you can think of is something you had eaten with or cooked for or cooked by someone, telling others to love their loved ones – when you don’t believe in whatever you are saying.

With every single moment of every day of our remaining life, we keep learning and, perhaps, cursing the fact that how strong impact of the association of one single person could be on us, and we hate learning and cursing it.

We learn that perhaps it is not right to give so much importance to any human being for no human being is perfect. We learn that we need to love our creator, our God. We need to learn him more than every single loved one of ours and every single material thing of this world. We learn that we need to rely on Him alone. We learn that we need to expect the best from Him alone. We learn that we should accept whatever is in our fate.

Still we are always upset about the fact that some people thrust their opinion on us and give it the name of fate without even trying to change the scenario and without even telling us what had went wrong or what made them say lies to us, hurt us and leave us.

We, at times, unjustifiably, do feel upset with God just the way a child would feel upset with his parents at times, even if he knows that they may know and decide know better

One small lesson we learn is that it is certainly possible to be screaming, crying, and laughing all at the same time for hours in the middle of the night even if we can’t breathe because our face is pressed firmly against one, two or three pillows.

Some of us learn that perhaps we have to pretend being happy till we die with a fake smile on our face. Others learn how to love God the most and how to leave His creatures without expecting too much and giving a lot.

i love the pic you have put up irfan . if u ask me to change something maybe the bridge part i’ll change though it goes very well with the quote which did strike a chord in me .
the bridge looks made-up – know what i mean ? superficiality . instead i would love it if there was
    a. a branch of a tree which is connecting the two lands ……. the voice of life in me and the ear of life in you .
    b. maybe a wooden bridge but with a base – in the sense maybe a a thin wooden branch which plunges deep into the water to find the soil beneath .
    am i making sense ?

    Thank you all for comments.

Lichen, the pic was not actually chosen by me. It came with this template I chose :) . But yes, it does match the quote (which is one of my all time favorite quotes). And yes you do make sense… perfect sense. I admire the way you think.

Keep visiting readers. Hopefully I will be writing more frequently.

yes some relation leaves u empty and u can’t get rid of it… but some are such even after expiring comes and nags u .. relation is not a name of expiring but it is a name of beginning.
if a relation finishes means it was no relation, it shouldn’t be given a name of relation then. its an affair which took its time and it finished because it lost its charm… relation with parents , siblings , relatives should they finish, do they?? no because those r bound to be there, but if a relation finishes it was never a relation… don’t lose heart there … relation is for our to make.. it shouldn’t control us we should control them..
relation which r good enough shall never break.. if it does it doesn’t mean it was a play of a fate.. it means one has become weak…
u r a very deep person and from ur writing what u went through have given u a broader meaning of relation but don’t count ur relation as the end of all relation..

Best of luck for the future and new beginning .. because after every end there is a beginning..

there’s 1 lesson most of us still need to learn while we get daily hints to do so

    “acceptance of life with gratitude”..

I know people and relationships are hard..but life is a beautiful miracle.
